Display Easy Finder Search forms

Add new or edit Search form with terms list are available on the plugin menu EasyFinder -> All Searches -> Edit Form (New Form) -Where to Search parameter, which intended to display on different website places and pages. Add new form available from the plugin menu EasyFinder -> New Search.

Title

Makes Search form Title text visible before form content.

Search ID

Search ID required for identified each Search Form on website. Parameter use by the plugin for the Easy Finder Shortcode, Search From fields and as HTTP request parameter.

Where to Search

It is proposed Search form area for display on website: WordPress pages, WooCommerce pages, WooCommerce Shop pages, WooCommerce Products pages, WooCommerce Products category pages, Homepage. How to attach to Sidebar on selected page area ? Set a new or update exist Custom Field at the bottom of Search form page EasyFinder -> All Searches -> Edit Form (New Form) by name sidebar_id and value as ID of one of the registered sidebars.

Display by Shortcode

Please set Easy Finder Shortcode efp_widget_form for execute widget to display selected Search form with terms which identifier by Search ID option. Set shortcode with search_id attribute in the required place on the page. For Search form to appear only as a result of the shortcode, recommend choose the Where to Search parameter Shortcode with Search ID

Display by pages

Please select required area for Search form display by Where to Search parameter: WordPress pages, WooCommerce pages, WooCommerce Shop pages, WooCommerce Products pages, WooCommerce Products category pages, Homepage. On WooCommerce Shop pages Ajax requests available to use with content.

Search path

Please set Search path for display results of the found data of Search form. Specified URL parameter intended for link to another page to display the search results (full or partial path to the page is specified).

Ajax Search

Makes searching by Ajax technology without reload pages possible. Highly recommended for use on WooCommerce shop/product pages only (not guaranteed to work successfully on all WordPress themes) How to set Results Content on the page for WordPress/Homepage pages ? Set a new or update exist Custom Field of Search form page EasyFinder -> All Searches -> Edit Form (New Form) by name results_content and set ID (as #id_name) or Class (as .class_name) value of page results content.

Hide Search

Makes Search form invisible when all fields: Checkbox, Radio, Label buttons and Text, Datetime, Numbers does not contain found items.

Show Count

Makes Search form Checkbox, Radio, Label buttons found items count number visible.

Hide Term

Makes Search form term section invisible when used fields: Checkbox, Radio, Label buttons does not contain found items.

  1. Display Easy Finder Search terms

Title and Tooltip

Title – Makes Search form term section Title text visible before section body. Tooltip – Makes tooltip circle with ? Icon for short tooltip about the section content.

Search form field

Search Form field operate with Search by option, which provide most usable WordPress. WooCommerce or Custom fields. Choose option for searching by field in WordPress posts, WooCommerce products or Custom content.

Search form view

Search Form view display in form html input field according with Search view option, which provide most usable: Text, Checkbox, Radio, Label, Number, Datetime. There is no limitation on the choice of a field, which can be any, but you must select the appropriate field to Search by option.

Datetime format and locale

When chosen Datetime Search Form view for display in form, recommend to set favorite format (according to required region: Day, month, year, hour, minute dd/MM/yyyy HH:mm) and locale (default is english – en).

Number step and range

When chosen Number Search Form view for display in form, recommend to set minimum number step for increase and decrease a value and range html view for convenience of user if necessary.

Sort by and Search relation

Additional sorting option and search condition for query results. Sorting option apply to string/numeric meta fields and WooCommerce taxonomies (product attributes, and product taxonomies). Search conditions term add to meta fields and taxonomies (Recommend use one for meta fields and one for taxonomies in query for Search form).

Prefix

Specify Search field prefix which using in query URL for Search form. WooCommerce Product attributes set prefix “filter_” by default. Using a prefix will replace default prefix with the new one specified for WooCommerce meta keys and taxonomies. WooCommerce Product goal taxonomies (Product Category, Brand, Tag, Type, Visibility) prefix will replace URL search key parameter name.

Items Count

Specify items count already visible for Checkbox, Radio, Label buttons. Items with an index greater than the value of Items Count will be available by Show More.

 

Meta keys, Taxonomies, Custom fields

For the convenience of choosing search fields, a set of frequently used fields of WordPress tables fields and meta-fields/taxonomies of WooCommerce products is offered. To use another field for search, for building Search form need to select Custom Field or Custom Number Field, specify the meta-field by Meta key option and, if necessary, specify Prefix option.

4. Plugin Settings

The Plugin Settings are available from the plugin menu  EasyFinder -> Settings.

General

The General tab suggest to specify License Key option for updating the newest plugin versions automatically for authorization plugin customers. To receive the key, an authorized user must send an email to the author with their transaction number for purchasing the plugin on the Code Canyon platform to the email address listed on the author’s page.

Form

The Form tab suggest to specify Form Style option for custom css code that apply to Search forms. Form Frontend and Form Edging options are providing framework (Bootstrap 5 available only, more in Future Version) and edging style of Search forms.
